Pros

Worked for the first and #1 U.S Manga publisher. I was there when they first started to license Anime and learned so much during my 4 years about both video production and print production. Many opportunities to learn and grow. Yes, there were struggles but colleagues were great to work with, were incredibly talented and fought through the hard times. Founder/CEO Stu Levy was a true entrepreneur who created new revenue streams and always got the best out of us.

Cons

Went through growing pains as it went from small startup to largest Manga publisher in the U.S. Not a con per se, just a fact that happens to many smaller companies. Extremely competitive Anime licensing once big studios got in the game making it difficult to turn a profit. Price of doing business.

Pros

Location - you're right across the street from LACMA. You are doing legitimate work. There are many opportunities to network outside of the company.

Cons

They use interns to replace full-time paid employees and you must register to receive college credit in order to intern there. They overwork you to the point where they expect the company to come before school, you often have to seek guidance. There is a power struggle between the CEO, COO and President of the company and it causes a lot of tension in the workplace. While your internship is in a specific department, you shouldn't be surprised if you get pulled to do something else (i.e. going from marketing to graphic design).
