Pros

Above average pay, good benefits, interesting problems to solve, great minds and personalities across the company.

Cons

If you are considering working here, I recommend you look elsewhere. Torc is a shell of the company it once was: constant re-orgs, growing pains, CTO ambition, aggressive timelines -- there are a number of things to point to. Torc was great when I first started: pay, benefits, good infrastructure, good tooling, people that were committed to making things better and getting to where we need to go. Then we hired a CTO that told us we weren't product-focused, and in the process of redoing things we have gone backwards in many areas. I am a remote employee who feels like my days are limited due to in-office focused decisions. All new engineering positions are in-person in Ann Arbor. Three significant office shuffles have occurred in the last 6 months causing hundreds of people to make tough decisions. They want us to get to a 2027 commercial launch, and yet have destroyed the culture and caused constant pain and change for its employees.

Pros

Working at Torc has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. The technology we're building is genuinely world-changing — autonomous trucking has the potential to transform how goods move across the country, and being part of that mission makes the work feel meaningful every single day. The pace is fast, which keeps things engaging. There's always something new to tackle, and the environment pushes you to grow quickly. If you thrive on momentum and like seeing your contributions matter, you'll feel right at home here. One thing that stands out is the flexibility around work hours. It's clear that leadership trusts employees to get the job done without micromanaging when or how you do it. That kind of autonomy makes a real difference for work-life balance.

Cons

The fast pace isn't for everyone — be ready to hit the ground running
