Watch out for bad and/or biased trainers, bad management, and some truly questionable co-workers [who probably got hired by fogging a mirror].
However, don't let any of that stop you from getting into the industry if you truly want to get into the insurance business. Do what you got to do for as long as you need to do, and move on.
Advice (seriously): Play "Step-in-Fetchit" until you can _Step_ yourself on out of there and _fetch_ your career aspirations. Don't let "THEM" or your ego punk you out of a stable career that can take you up and out of whatever financial situation you may be in.
