Pros

TREW focuses on success - employee success and client success. Working hand in hand as a close knit team of professionals, TREW is a supportive and fun environment where excellence is valued and everyone has a voice. I actually feel that work/life balance is awesome for everyone across the board. Management is very open to feedback and is agile in making improvements if needed, and always willing to listen to staff and help make them successful. A very rewarding experience, and working from home - on top of working at such an excellent workplace - is just icing on the cake.

Cons

I don't have any complaints! :)

Pros

I remember learning soon after I was hired that the company strived for an attitude of "laid-back excellence." I wasn't sure exactly what this phrase meant or if it was attainable. Looking back, I can confidently say that laid-back excellence is a 100% fit. Everyone at TREW produces exceptional work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Although I just left for another career opportunity, I highly recommend TREW as an employer for several reasons. 1) Culture. I had never worked at a fully remote company before, and I was skeptical that physically separated employees could form a cohesive company culture. Thankfully, I was wrong. TREW has a very intentional, uplifting culture that leadership builds through monthly happy hour meetings, quarterly game nights, and tons of collaboration. They also host an annual retreat where everyone meets up in person. The 2022 retreat was a blast! 2) Benefits and Equipment. The health insurance is pretty solid, and the company provides funds for home office supplies as well as your monthly phone and internet bills. In terms of equipment, they hooked me up with a new MacBook Pro which allowed to me work at home with my dual monitors or at coffee shops. I even got to work from a brewery a couple of times. 3) Opportunity for Growth. The team is pretty small, so if you show initiative in a certain domain, they will give you the opportunity to develop your skills. Just bring those skills back to the company, and they will reward you. 4) Maturity. The company was founded in 2008, so they've had time to work out a lot of the kinks that young companies are still battling. TREW has developed checklists and SOP documents for all major services and has a good tech stack. They also have a robust inbound marketing funnel that produces more leads than the company can handle, giving them the opportunity to be choosy about which clients they work with.

Cons

Remote work doesn't work for everyone, so make sure you understand yourself!

Pros

TREW is a great place for communications professionals who are self-starters and client-oriented. We're encouraged to deliver excellence through smart, effective communication plans and content. Challenges are approached thoughtfully, with a client's goals in mind, and a drive to create the best results possible. Over the last few years, leadership has really established processes around how we manage/execute services and clients in tandem with marketing practices that are proven to work. These two strengths, combined with team collaboration, gives us a confidence when we approach clients and helps us ultimately build the trust needed when taking over a client's marketing strategy and budget. The virtual work environment is really incredible - meetings are intentional and work is highly efficient, and it gives employees some autonomy to live out what work/life balance means for them. With this setup, we're able to focus more on client needs.

Cons

Working in a virtual environment with a team that's also collaborative (co-working, quick to pick up the phone, have an ad-hoc meeting, etc.) is amazing for some, but not for everyone. You'll need to be confident in your marketing abilities and able to manage your time well. You'll need to be wiling to speak up and ask a question when you have one. I think you also need some interests outside of work to succeed in a balanced environment -- whether that's family, friends, hobbies, etc. If you're looking for work to fulfill all of your social/community/other needs, it will be difficult to feel fulfilled in a primarily virtual environment.
