Pros

TSNE provided a lot of great opportunities for my career and I am thankful for that! The organization attracts top talent and dedicated staff. Flexible work. Well respected among other larger organizations and foundations. Good benefits and dedicated to paying market-level salaries. Professional development opportunities are promoted.

Cons

TSNE has a piecemeal strategy that is not cohesive and every time it’s communicated, it changes. It also appears that leadership positions at TSNE attract a lot of wonderful idealists and thinkers, and not enough realists and doers. This could have changed by now. There are extremely clearer policies and procedures at TSNE, yet because they are not aligned with what’s happening on the ground, they become useless – similar to the fragmented visions you hear at least once in every staff meeting. You don’t have to have a final destination, but you at least have to know what continent your landing on.

Pros

We work from home with in office meetings every couple of months. The social justice mission is why most employees work here. Coworkers are typically between good and great with a few noticeable exceptions.

Cons

Too little focus on improving. Repeatedly creating new departments with higher than average pay, resulting in pay freezes for everyone else. Meanwhile, Staff are treated horribly by customers (who are technically coworkers) too often. Understandably, there is a big divide between staff and leadership. A recent joke at the end of an All Staff meeting by the MC suggested Leadership Team should now return to their cryogenic chambers.
