• Zero long haul flights, despite offering them from Dublin. All are given to UK based crew.
• Dublin uses third-party aircraft, which can make training difficult when constantly changing aircraft and companies from season to season, not knowing who your flight crew will be, and poor maintenance standards from ECP companies resulting in massive delays.
• Seasonal contract, with zero chance of permanent winter work, and can take years to even get a permanent seasonal contract, no guarantee of being able to come back at all, with little to no communication from the company regarding returning until recruiting has completed.
• Base management is very rarely on-site.
• Senior crew members can often look down on junior crew, often not wanting to “clean up” inexperienced crew members “mistakes”.
• Annual leave is allocated by the company until a permanent contract is given, and is incredibly low pay.
• Bidding system doesn’t work at all.
• Poor organisational and communication skills from upper management.
• Very cliquey environment, with a lot of gossip spread, and a lot of cases of bullying.
• Crew meals are shockingly bad, with very little variety.
• Often very poor stock loadings of basic items, with systems often not indicating the correct load numbers, resulting in unhappy passengers.
• You can get promoted to senior, but this can be taken away just as fast as you got it.
• The very few benefits that are offered cannot be used in the ROI, despite management being aware of the issues, and claiming they are fixing it for years.
• Overall, they care more about the UK, than they do about Ireland, and would rather Ireland wasn’t there.
