Pros

Pro's were many when I started 18 years ago, but most don't exist now. Currently they are profit sharing and... well... profit sharing.

Cons

Management has lost all interest in hard working staff who excel. When opportunities open for advancement it is the norm to hire outside staff with no working knowledge of the business. Management has become obsessed with the bottom line and lost interest and appreciation for employees in the process. I resigned after 17, nearly 18 years of service because of a manager from another country hired and backed by upper level mngmt who told me that no one in our department was any better or more valuable than the other. A communist point of view that had no place in a department where lazy, inept staff were raised to the same level as those who work hard and long and went further than the others to reach goals. As a result, the entire department began to collapse and is now being eliminated and replaced by an outside source. Dedication (I didn’t miss a day in over a decade), hard work, extra hours and longevity mean nothing to Taconic.

Pros

Taconic is a great place to work, and it is clear the company is moving in a very positive direction. The work is meaningful, the customer interaction is strong, and there is a real sense that what we do matters to the people and organizations we support. One of the biggest positives is the quality of the people across the company. There is a lot of knowledge, experience, and commitment throughout the organization. The leadership team is approachable, supportive, and genuinely focused on helping employees and customers succeed. The new CEO has brought strong energy, direction, and confidence to the business, which has created a renewed sense of momentum. The customer facing side of the business is especially rewarding. There is constant opportunity to work with smart customers, solve problems, and be part of something that has a real impact. Taconic has a strong reputation in the industry, and it is easy to feel proud representing the company. Great customer interaction and meaningful work Strong new leadership and a clear sense of direction Knowledgeable and supportive leadership team Talented people across the organization Strong company reputation and mission Good opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute

Cons

Like many companies, there are areas where processes and communication can continue to improve. The business moves quickly, so priorities can shift, and that can create some challenges at times. That said, leadership is committed to making improvements and supporting the teams through change.
