Pros
gain experience, get to travel the country (mostly the southern states), respectful superiors, very flexible when requesting time off
Cons
no training to move up tech levels, no incentive bonuses, pay raises are called performance raises but really are cost of living raise that can't really keep up with inflation, you get benched with no pay based on performance, per diem hasn't increased in years
