Pros
- Managers are supportive of learning opportunities - be it traversing the tech stack or attending external workshops.
- Flexible schedules and work environment. They understand that life happens, and as long as deliverables are met, there are no issues.
- Agile and adaptable team. This was made apparent during the pandemic and a successful transition to fully working from home (additional allowance was provided for home office setup)
- Talix follows a discretionary time off (DTO) policy, which essentially translates to unlimited PTO within reason and manager approval.
- Regular team activities and swag. We had weekly happy hours and morning coffee water coolers, quarterly all-hands team events, etc. I personally appreciated the COVID-related swag we received during the pandemic.
- A team dynamic where teammates supported each other. Additionally, I've always felt that my manager was a Slack message away.
- Great healthcare benefits.
- Fairly flat organizational structure.
- Dog friendly office! :)
Cons
- Not really a con, but you are more/less responsible in charting your own path to professional growth at Talix.
- Talix is experiencing a burst of growth and with it came some healthy growing pains.
- No 401k match currently, but I understand it's in the works
