Pros
With over 10 years’ experience in the Logistics Industry, I have worked for the biggest of the big. I simply wanted more from life than what they could offer me. I am a single father of 2 children, so flexibility of schedule is imperative to me. As an agent I am my own boss so, I make the schedule. I wanted to make more money and I am not afraid to work hard to get it. As an agent I determine the cost and take the lion’s share of my gross margin home. In my opinion, TGF is offering the best compensation package. Not only do they offer a very handsome commission split to an agent, you will have more control over you books of business with less corporate bureaucracy. This is a golden opportunity to be your own boss and not have to worry about what changes HQ will implement next. I say with honesty and certainty the owners like myself have also worked for Big Brokers. When they succeeded independently their doors quickly opened to other agents in hopes they could share in having the same type of success and lifestyle. Becoming an agent at Tallgrass Freight is the best business decision I ever made. I look forward to working with you!
Cons
1) To be an agent requires experience and industry knowledge so this is not the place for someone thinking about trying freight out. 2) While you are your own boss and you set the rules, it takes real work to grow it. While this would be the same with any new company, this is not a Con however, you must be goal oriented with a solid work ethic or you simply will not fit the experience TGF management is trying to build.
