Pros
I found coming from a job with a high workload ( 100+ hrs per week ) that the atmosphere was very good. The company was in transition at the time from trying to approach all digital aspects to regaining focus in it's goals and found I could be very involved in helping shape this.
It was also a great environment to be able to diversify in my skills, not being constrained to just being a developer and ideas were accepted as part of the working team.
The atmosphere in the office was calm for the most part, as with anywhere deadlines could cause the usual productive stress, but nothing like I had experienced up until that point in time, which was unbearable before joining.
I also found coming from the previous positions I had had, the management understood that working hours were working hours and personal lives mattered which is rare in the industry. This meant that overtime incurred was given back when required and staying late was not an expectation, which meant I could enjoy the benefits of the salary in my own time and work benefitted my life rather than impacted upon it.
At the time as well the Pitt Street office space had a good community and I have made lasting friendships with both the staff of Tandem and the other people in the building.
Cons
At the time the location was awkward to travel to in terms of public transport and it felt a bit remote from the area of Leith.
