Pros

Nice people and hard workers in general. They work hard and play hard. Generally employ people who are very competent in their delivery ability.

Cons

Trying to be who they are not. Smoke and mirrors in areas outside of their comfort zone are wasted. Egos are painful at the top.

Cons

Not enough time for TayganPoint team building and socialization due to scattered work assignments

Thanks for your insight. We are fortunate that we have great clients with interesting work - it allows us all to learn continually, grow and be challenged. Thrilled to hear that after 8 years you are still engaged, learning and satisfied. As for more time to socialize....we agree! And we are working on it - we've had more social gatherings the past 6 months than we've ever had - from sporting events to book clubs and ad hoc happy hours after work. We are getting better, but need to do more. Our annual summer event for our team members and their families is right around the corner. Be prepared for fireworks! Lastly, thank you for your 8 years....we are better because of you!

Pros

TayganPoint is a consulting firm where I genuinely love to work. Projects are challenging and dynamic, ranging from strategy to execution. Unlike most consulting models which require a lot of travel, most of our work is within a reasonable driving distance. TayganPoint has deep relationships with some of the most respected Life Sciences companies in the industry. They often choose to work with us rather than one of the bigger consultancies because TayganPoint has a reputation for rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done. I find the employees truly exceptional. Most are seasoned, accomplished professionals who spent many years in industry and now want to leverage their broad expertise in a consulting environment. The company's leaders have a passion for philanthropy and expect employees to share that value. The company is solid yet small enough to embrace a "quirky" culture. Although consultants are often placed at different locations, the leaders make it a priority to get employees together to socialize, discuss priorities and build the culture.

Cons

The hiring process can be long since the firm is always looking for talent, but must wait to win the work before they can hire. Work hours may be long, depending on the project where you are assigned. However, there is support for work/life balance when a family need arises. Like all consulting firms, it's a very dynamic environment and so it helps to be flexible and resilient.

Thanks for your insights and contributions! Our willingness to roll up our sleeves both on client work and in our community is a both why many clients choose to work with TayganPoint and many great TayganPointers get so much done in our communities. I'm glad you're as engaged by our "quirkiness" as I am. As you recognize - long hours in management consulting are expected - thanks so much for the extra effort. Given that "norm" in management consulting, TayganPoint works hard to ensure that we are an industry leader in the work/life balance category. While we have some work to do to get better here, we're really strong compared to others in our industry.
