Pros
- Smart, driven, personable colleagues that became such great friends. I've always been amazed by how much I learned from my colleagues throughout the past few years.
- Opportunity to expand skillset for those willing. There's always more work to do and dive into, which has helped me a lot in my career. Also lots of great tools to learn (from the marketing and data side).
- Compassionate and understanding team. There was a 7-month period of time when I was part-time caretaking for a terminally sick family member and my team has always supported me and given me flexibility to get my work done. For that, I'll ALWAYS be grateful despite any other things that might've occurred during my time.
- Celebration of big and small wins has been something to look forward to and helped keep me motivated with projects.
- Many opportunities for cross-functional collaboration. I in particular have loved collaborating with the Product team, and found that only when I started doing that I truly understand how to market our product better to potential customers. Love the Product peeps.
Cons
- Compensation stopped being close to market rate around 2024 onwards
- I've noticed that some initiatives are evaluated strictly by daily performance metrics, while others seem to operate with more flexibility and qualitative input. It can feel a bit inequitable when investment, recognition, and celebration are tied only to measurable outcomes for some, but not all.
