Pros

-Teachable once had a talented, collaborative team that was passionate about the product and mission. -Some remaining colleagues still care deeply and try to do good work despite constant roadblocks. -Flexible remote work policy.

Cons

-Working with Hotmart has been a disaster — their Brazil-based systems are outdated, clunky, and not aligned with the technology standards or expectations of the U.S. market. These tools slow down even the simplest processes, lack key functionality, and make day-to-day work unnecessarily difficult. There is no real push to adopt global solutions that meet current industry norms. -Working with Hotmart employees is frustrating and unproductive. Many lack the skills or context to contribute effectively, yet they are involved in every decision. They often impose unnecessary red tape, ignore feedback, and derail progress. -Major business decisions are made without any understanding of Teachable’s customers, product, or market. This has created chaos, endless rework, and a sense that no one actually knows what they’re doing. -New leadership is disconnected, inexperienced, and prone to making rash, poorly thought-out decisions. This has eroded any trust or confidence employees once had in leadership. -The culture has shifted from empowering and innovative to demoralizing and directionless. Morale is at an all-time low. -Compensation is well below market rate, with benefits quietly reduced or taken away over time — always framed as “business decisions” or global alignment with little transparency. -Managers and leaders have made insulting or dismissive remarks to employees, creating a hostile undertone in day-to-day interactions. -There is no clear vision, no strategy that makes sense, and no stability. Employees are left to pick up the pieces of constant pivots while being undervalued and underpaid.
