Pros

1. I learned so much over just a summer as my manager helped me outline a holistic marketing campaign and coached me to execute it step by step. I was a finance guy working in a big corporation before I joined TFNT, but I came out knowing how to plan and execute a marketing strategy and how to maximize the value of limited resources in a startup. 2. I was able to contribute to the company's growth, and I felt really thrilled achieving my goals in a field that I didn't know much before working here. 3. The organization culture focused on work results instead of micro management.

Cons

My manager was very straightforward. She always told me directly when my work quality was not up to her expectations. She was tough but with good intentions, and when I reflect on my time there, I think that's indeed how I went out of my comfort zone to learn how to work effectively and smart under limited time.

Thank you for your contribution to TFNT and for learning quickly on the job. In a start-up environment, it's not what you know, but how quickly you learn, which is exactly what you're talking about here.

Pros

Sophia, the TFNT founder, is a great boss and mentor. Before officially starting, she was interested in learning what I wanted out of my role and crafted my position around my specific interests. The EdTech space is a growing industry, especially education around how to work with the technology sector, without learning deep tech concepts like coding. Sophia has created a fantastic company culture, a spirit of openness, transparency, and a safe space to fail.

Cons

Tech For Non-Techies is a growing company, all employees do a bit of everything to begin! This is not a con, but something to be aware of for people coming from large companies who are not familiar with working in a startup.
