Pros
- Training is paid. - You can be hired without an IT experience, they do not require that you have any background or education in IT. - PTO/Vacation Pay is earned at base values each year instead of being accrued slowly over time. - Coworkers are friendly and helpful.
Cons
- Initial pay is very low for work involving inbound calls, even more so when you consider that the job entails providing specialized IT Support and isn't just processing credit cards, transactions, dispatching roadside assistance, etc. Base pay is not increased by having a background or education in IT. - Raises are extremely rare and often very little. - Company does not like to pay overtime and will avoid doing so at any cost, so much that they will advise you to transfer any hours over 40 during any given week to the following week. Overtime is only offered on the rare occasion that one of the 12-hour shift employees is unable to make their shift. - PTO/Vacation Pay is not paid out upon termination or resignation on your own terms, despite the company handbook stating that it will be. Attempting to collect this will result in gaslighting by any means to avoid paying out the PTO/Vacation that you rightfully earned. - The 12-hour/Shift Employees are not provided a lunch. - Absolutely no room for advancement. The company is rife with favoritism and "good ole boys" mentality, this determines your ability to advance, not your technical skills or ability to perform job duties. It doesn't matter if you goof off, so as long as you are socializing with the right people and indulge them. If you are a 12-hour/Shift Employee, you will never advance nor escape this position. -Management is petty over insignificant things, not so much to be overbearing but enough that it is demotivating and frankly annoying. - Remote work was made available during COVID-19, but has since been changed to a pointless hybrid schedule. Company prefers forcing an unnecessary commute to an office that is often loud and obnoxious. - The company views you are disposable and will abandon you the moment you dare to stand up for yourself.
