Pros

Casual environment and a brand, new conference room maybe only 10 people use a month!

Cons

Hired for a position that didn't exist, then got layed off. Other employees said that I'd never get a raise once I'd accepted the position at the hourly rate Terracon offered so "plan on staying in that position at that pay rate forever". They hire EVERYONE as "part-time" even though you're actually working full-time, they say you're part-time so as not to provide benefits or allow you to collect unemployment if you're "layed off". Terracon never uses the terminology Laid Off or Fired, they say "we're sending you home" this sending home crap goes on for awhile before you're actually just really layed off. They sent a bad check as a final payroll check in the mail which the Corporate Office acknowledged as "we've had trouble with King Soopers". I did not try to cash the check at only King Soopers, I tried Safeway, Walmart, and my Bank! All these merchants said the same thing, Terracon has tried to pass off bad payroll checks. There has been no resolution except to suggest I deposit my check rather than cash it or the Corporate office will send another payroll check (which I cannot cash!). They bank with Bank of America - that's enough right there to expect some sort of erroneous behavior with former bad checks being disbursed and then they blame it on their former employees and say it was the former employee who was at fault (without any specifics of course).

Pros

You have sustainable hours for construction but there is mandatory overtime (The most I’ve done is 51 hours in a week), they pay you enough to live on, it’s good experience, upper management pays lip service to workers rights, there is genuine concern and regulation from management to provide you an emotionally and physically safe place to work, you’re never really rushed to do your job, and you do have the right to stop work

Cons

You need a degree in engineering or geology to move up and you have to threaten to move offices or take another job to get a pay raise. It’s not unionized.
