Seems like times are always slow.
Ive held over 4 jobs at 4 companies and I can honestly say this is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for.
Every time it rains or snows they send hourly workers home and make excuses "oh the weather is bad today so its gonna be slow" - so what are all the techs supposed to do when it rains or snows for 3-4 days in a row?
How are we supposed to pay bills if sometimes im only getting 20-30 hours a week? Management always said "oh it'll pick back up in the summer" but it never did. I had to constantly ask for work to be sent to me. Feels like most of my time was spent looking around for work and not actually working. Also pay is absolutely terrible. They want people with a 4 year degree to be paid the same as a cashier at a grocery store. Middle management gets paid way too much for doing nothing lol. I would never consider staying at this company long term, I started interviewing for other companies on my second week here.
Only way I would recommend working here is if you are a brand new grad and need experience- I would work here and then get out ASAP. Even as a staff engineer it will take you 10-30 years to make decent money at this company.
The office culture seems to be "nobility in poverty" everyone buys into the fact that they dont get paid much even though a lot of the engineers know they could make more money elsewhere. I have heard a senior engineer sigh heavily out loud and say "no wonder I hate my job". That quote right there sums up my experience at Terracon.
