Pros

The CEO is great. He cares about his employees and is very genuine. My service line leader, and the assistant service line leaders (Materials) are also exceptional. I have gotten to know them over the last 3 years I have worked here and they are great to work with, really care about issues at all levels, and are eager to fix problems when they arise. I also like their focus on safety. It is not as much keeping the insurance rates low, but more about keeping the employees happy and healthy. It is the first company I have worked for where it feels like they actually care about you. I also really like the attention they give to evolving technologies. Things like everyone gets a laptop and a smart phone if you are a field technician. I love that its employee owned. Stock price has been growing steadily. They also really seem to understand acquisitions. The companies they have acquired recently have been good fits and well integrated.

Cons

Some of the aforementioned technology can get buggy and affect performance. Because it is such a large company, there sometimes feels as if their is a disconnect when it comes to recruiting, key hires, etc. between middle management and senior management.

Pros

You have sustainable hours for construction but there is mandatory overtime (The most I’ve done is 51 hours in a week), they pay you enough to live on, it’s good experience, upper management pays lip service to workers rights, there is genuine concern and regulation from management to provide you an emotionally and physically safe place to work, you’re never really rushed to do your job, and you do have the right to stop work

Cons

You need a degree in engineering or geology to move up and you have to threaten to move offices or take another job to get a pay raise. It’s not unionized.
