Pros
Good work life balance. Good benefits. Mostly mission-driven colleagues. Relaxed work environment.
Cons
The others who have reviewed this company did so after working there for a month or two. This company is run like a tech company, not an education nonprofit. CEO has ZERO experience in education, hires/promotes/contracts his friends, will nix promising projects on a whim. When it comes to choosing projects and spending money, students and teachers come last after policy, district leaders, and administrators. Projects move slowly. No collaboration between teams. Be prepared to take all your projects from start to finish alone. Org chart makes no sense - look how many leads and directors and VPs there are. Company is swimming in cash because of the AI boom, not because of solid fundamentals. High turnover on all teams, especially leadership, and no one has lasted a year working directly under the CEO without quitting or changing teams. Both other founders quit. If you truly care about the mission, you will have your soul crushed here. If you really want to interview, ask about leadership's education experience, opportunities for career advancement, turnover, hard numbers for students impacted, and what the company will do if the AI boom dies out.
