Pros

I've been pleasantly surprised how willing Atum is to create a Management Consulting role that fits both my professional and personal goals. For example, I prefer to avoid travel, so they try to find me projects locally. I want to gain experience in new industries, so they try to support me in finding projects that are within my ability, but still allow me to grow. Their motto is "meritocracy first" and employees are rewarded for their contribution -- an appealing approach for motivated, high-performers.

Cons

Some projects may require longer hours and travel (but those expectations seem to be communicated up-front). No healthcare benefits currently offered, however it sounds like these are a possibility down the road.

Pros

Atum has stellar management with excellent leadership abilities. They are incredible advocates for their employees, working hard to promote employee skills to clients. The firm employs professionals of all backgrounds, compensates well, and offers Big Four expertise to clients at competitive economics.

Cons

Most clients are located in Pacific Northwest. There are plenty of engagements with dynamic local and international companies. Still, they do not implement internationally as a Big Four firm would on a large international engagement.

Pros

The Atum Group is a firm that excels at matching the right consultant with the right client. This contrasts sharply with my experience at some other firms that do not seem interested in finding the right fit but, instead, try to find any body to fill each available slot. The Atum Talent Team took the time and effort to understand my career goals and interests in addition to my expertise and work experience. They consistently identified clients that I would be passionate working for and engagements where my skills would allow me to deliver exceptional results.

Cons

You have to be ready to cut the cord -- forgo the certainty of a weekly paycheck in exchange for an incredible variety of work, best-in-class clients and attractive hourly pay rates. If you are ready to do that, The Atum Group is an excellent place to work. I have referred my friends and former colleagues to Atum without any hesitation.
