Pros
Good reputation being through Al Gore
Cons
The culture was toxic to say the least. There was very little diversity and a serious aversion to changing that. They hired a few low level POC employees while social media blasting the DEI commitments- but those meant nothing. They held all these conferences and events talking about diversity and inclusion and the like - and brought on a few folks to be the token minority in front of everyone, so it looks great on the outside but inside the org, it was not a safe place to be anything but a white male. Things like a cultural style haircut was sneered at, or clothing that cultural was snickered at - micro and overt aggressions were daily. The culture was rigid and judgemental and bullying was allowed of other employees and the executive team watched it and knew about it and did nothing, given they too were white males that wanted their work place to reflect their personal values and not cultural diversity. POC looking to apply there, be warned, you will be treated like an outsider unless you act/look super white - this is not a safe place to work as a person of color. The CEO did nothing but eat lunch and come in late mornings and lock himself in the office for the day and leave around 3/4pm - zero leadership and direction. You couldn't even email him directly, you had to email his assistant to try and talk to him. He was unreachable by design. Financially, he made many times what most of the staff did, as the executive team also - they made a lot of money and everyone else was barely scraping by on the salary while doing all the work. The staff were on their own so it became super catty and the executive team encouraged it, there was mean girl types of cliques in the org, it was a mess. They culture was designed to use people up and spit them out - not encourage growth and professional skills.
