Awful - Account Manager The Community Employee Review

Pros

Upper management has no idea how bad the lower people have it, so sometimes they'd try to do cool stuff like parties, free ice cream, or summer Fridays (when you get off at 2) but truth is, people had so much work, no one would end up leaving at 2. And after working 80-hour weeks, the least people wanted to do was to spend more time with those awful people. Employees want to go home to their own lives!

Cons

Everything. The office is a permanent freezing temperature and it's always loud. All managers treat people awful. Constant 12- or 15-hour days. Staying until 2am on most days, because it's short-staffed and has a huge client they can't handle. Also at a really, really low salary. No one is nice, or looking to make friends. On constant call, some weekends at office. Awful management. I had 4 different supervisors in my first 8 months, so no one could attest to my work. No parking. Meetings 9-6, so you can only start working after 6. Did I mention people are terrible? You get thrown in, and you either sink or swim. Very hierarchical, so if you're not a director, expect to be treated like garbage and do the work no one else wants to do ("because it's your job"). Constant yelling at employees and bellittletling them if they ask for explanation (At least in Account Management in the bigger accounts). Expect to have no life outside work and never have a good day. Ever. Everything's an emergency. Anyway, terrible company. Peace out.

Pros

- The elevator was very charming. - The house by the canal was cool. - They would give an annual salary raise without previous any negotiation or asking for it.

Cons

- Parking was awful. The neighbourhood was dangerous, and sometimes they got violent. - The extra hours were exhausting—no respect whatsoever for the employee's personal time. - No personal space and very noisy. Some jobs require a quiet environment, and the ping pong table's ticking in the middle of the floor was distracting and annoying. - There were obviously preferences among the staff, which made the environment untrustworthy and unfair. - It's good to wear casual clothes to the office, but shorts and flip-flops? C'mon. - The owners think they are Greek gods and act like it.
