Pros

- Got me a decent job which got me useful experience - That's it

Cons

I'm an international student. I was naive and got lured in by their promises of an eventual full time gig and H1B. They delivered on neither. The client was not interested in keeping me full time, they were just looking for someone to fill in while they had extra work. The agency couldn't apply for H1B because they're not paying me enough for the minimum threshold of H1B. They refused to help me a STEM extension. Yeah I know temp agencies generally can't do a STEM extension, but there are ways around it and this company refuses to help. At this point I'm sitting on my thumbs, applying for jobs, and hoping to get something within the next 2 weeks, but it seems unlikely and looks like my OPT will expire without any extension. Thanks a lot Fountain Group! Even if you're not an international student, this company really doesn't pay you enough. They take off way too much from the original stipend. If you don't have a choice like I didn't, then go ahead, but try to switch to a different agency or get a full time job as quick as possible.

The Fountain Group Response

When recruiting, The Fountain Group utilizes the information that is provided by the client for each role. There are times when the needs of the role change on the client’s end. Unfortunately, that is outside of The Fountain Group’s control. With regards to your visa concerns, as mentioned, STEM support is not something that The Fountain Group can provide given the third party working relationship. The Fountain Group operates within legal parameters at all times, therefore, the company does not consider the “work arounds” some agencies may provide. If you are unhappy with the role and rate you accepted at time of offer, as always The Fountain Group would be open to discuss any concerns you may have. Please feel free to reach out to the Account Manager, Recruiter, or the main at 813-321-1653.

Pros

Supportive and accessible leadership. Managers are approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed. Recognition is frequent and meaningful, with shoutouts and contests that make hard work feel appreciated. Strong tools and technology. Since joining, I’ve seen major improvements with LinkedIn Recruiter, Morgan AI, and other sourcing tools that have made productivity noticeably better. The company embraces new technology quickly, which makes day-to-day recruiting more efficient. Fast-paced, high-energy environment. Great place for recruiters who are motivated, competitive, and enjoy a performance-driven culture. Clear goals and expectations help keep you focused. Collaboration and communication have improved. Team alignment has gotten stronger, and new platforms/processes have made it easier to share updates, support each other, and stay coordinated. Opportunities to own challenging roles. You get exposure to high-profile clients and niche positions, which helps you grow quickly as a recruiter and strengthen your technical understanding of pharma, biotech, and medical device industries. Supportive of work–life balance routines. Leadership respects boundaries, and I’ve been able to balance work with family responsibilities without feeling judged.

Cons

Limited paid holidays and PTO for newer employees. The current structure requires waiting several years to earn additional holidays, which can feel long compared to industry standards. Expanding PTO or creating a tiered holiday system for employees with 2+ years would make a big difference in morale and retention. Career path visibility could be clearer. There are opportunities for growth, but the pathways to leadership roles aren’t always well-defined. More communication around advancement criteria would help employees understand how to progress. High-volume workload at times. The fast pace is great for learning, but the workload can feel heavy during peak seasons. This is the nature of agency recruiting, but additional support or clearer prioritization could help. Some processes still rely on manual steps. While the company is adopting new tools quickly, there are still a few internal workflows that could be streamlined or automated further.
