Between The Pub, The Grill and Club its a blast working there! The staff is great and food is top notch. I only wish I could have worked there longer, but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to take another job.

If you enjoy being micro-managed by incompetent, disrespectful, know-it-alls, The Gaslight in Philadelphia is the place for you! Where do I even begin? Their entire system is a disorganized joke based on favoritism and who the co-owner is trying to sleep with. They preach "5 steps of training" until you want to puke, however, I'd not once seen the 5 steps completed by a manager and the senior-most bartender... Forget it. You'd have a better chance of squeezing water from a rock with your bare hands than to get a straight, non-sarcastic, non-snappy response from that guy. Other bartenders and servers warned me of what I could only describe as his perpetual state of pre-menstruation. I was still not prepared for the evening he came into work screaming at the FOH staff and berating the BOH for seemingly nothing. Customers could hear him from the kitchen and a couple at the bar even asked me if they had done something to upset him, after he stomped right past them as they attempted to ask for some extra napkins. The owners seem to have no problem with this. Asking questions, however, is a no-no; unless you expect to be talked down to. Workers who come to work early in the AM to help clean up the co-owner's mess from the night before are rewarded by being cursed at by the head chef/co-owner (who shows up minutes before opening) for not cleaning it quickly enough. Countless distasteful, overtly sexual and racist jokes. The tips are OK. Hit or miss. Certainly not worth the aggravation of dealing with the management.
