Cons

Working for Goat might seem like a great idea because they have a wide range of clients and campaigns. But in reality, working for Goat is like joining a cult. It will slowly suck the life out of you, leaving you with anxiety and depression. And the salary they offer definitely won’t cover therapy to help with the aftermath. You won’t progress unless you are friends or family with upper management. The company literally feels like a cult, self-claiming to be the “best agency in the world” with nothing to back that claim either. All the upper managers are either clicquey friends / family or they’re dating, and they have no previous experience in influencer marketing, or actual managerial experience. This leads to pointless ways of working and really subjective feedback, making it really hard to progress. You most likely won’t make friends here because everyone is just so clicquey, including HR that is supposed to be helpful and inviting. Don’t bother going to their social events unless you want to feel like an awkward outsider. You will be expected to work overtime and weekends, without any overtime pay. You are supposed to be able to log off at 4pm on Fridays but in reality no one does, and you will still receive messages and tags until after 6pm. There is no work-life balance because they expect this job to be your life. The staff retention is non existent, people continue to quit, yet no one in the company seems to realise that Goat might be the problem. They accept deals from clients without thinking about resource first, taking on international campaigns without having any knowledge about the market, nor employees who speak that language. They expect you to communicate with influencers from outside of UK (think Italy, or France) using Google Translate cause they are too cheap to hire an actual translator. And if you speak an additional language, they will exploit that by asking you to translate multiple documents including briefs, content etc on top of your busy workload, and no additional pay. Summary: I don’t recommend working for Goat, there are plenty other agencies out there that will offer you a respectful work environment
