Pros
Cannabis company with explosive growth... for now. Good to get started in cannabis if no where else gives you a shot, gain some experience of what not to do and then run fast. Training for some positions is solid and marketable to other cannabis companies. Start here if you have to, then find a real company to grow with.
Cons
Where to start... toxic culture of distrust and fear that your job is constantly in jeopardy. Based on my experience they have the worst pay in the industry across all positions: retail, cultivation, extraction, corporate, security doesn’t matter where you are you are paid a fraction of what you are worth. $11.00/hour is laughable regardless of the task, Fast food pays the same and it’s far more difficult than flipping burgers. Worst part is they know their pay is the worst in the industry and they don’t care. Turnover is unsustainable and laughable with how new people are starting constantly, there is no consistency. Most folks come on motivated and eager to get started in cannabis, but after about 3 weeks-90 days (depending on your role) that fades and you’ll be looking for work again. Most managers were promoted back in the day and have no business managing their own bank account let alone a store, still some solid people not knocking them, they were promoted with inadequate skills and there is no development just a title change, And then you are fired when you don’t deliver and the process starts over with another unqualified person being promoted without training/development. The Speidell’s (owners) just want to be weed celebrities and don’t care what it takes to get there. They are uneducated and have survived off of dumb luck and their employee’s blood, sweat, and tears. They do not pay contractors at construction sites and these contractors can be seen protesting at all of the stores as a result.
