The Gym Group Response
3yHi,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Firstly, we are sorry to hear that you have not had a positive experience whilst at The Gym Group.
We are also sorry that you were unhappy with the employment model. We aim to be as transparent as possible with regards to the operational model and the Fitness Trainer role. To clarify, our Fitness Trainers are employed on a part time basis (this salary does constitute an income and therefore is subject to tax and NI deductions), to support with the operating of our gyms and maintain our high levels of customer service and cleanliness. In addition to pay, employed Fitness Trainers are entitled to a number of employee benefits, development opportunities and access to our member base. Outside of your contracted hours and under a separate PT rental agreement you, in exchange for rent have access to our facilities and members to build your self-employed business. Both agreements are independent of one another, and the payments are managed by different teams within the business.
With regards to shifts within your Fitness Trainer role, whilst we cannot comment on the specifics of your experience, we do aim to provide flexibility around shifts and managers should work with their teams when scheduling the rota to accommodate where possible the needs of the team whilst balancing this with the business needs. However, we take onboard your feedback along with your other concerns.
Lastly, wellbeing is a business priority at The Gym Group and commit to providing wellbeing provisions and support through our EAP service, training/line manager support and resources within our Wellbeing Hub, however we are sorry to hear that you did not feel supported during this period.
If you have any further feedback on your experience that you would like to share then please get in touch at hrsupport@thegymgroup.com
