Pros

Dedicated faculty and staff who genuinely care about students. Opportunities to integrate faith with work, at least in principle. Some departments offer a supportive micro-culture, despite broader issues.

Cons

The university operates under a deeply entrenched culture of cronyism. Key positions are filled based on personal loyalty rather than merit or qualifications. Leadership is centralized around a president whose ethics are questionable and whose leadership style more closely resembles a personality cult than servant leadership. Despite being a faith-based institution, many internal practices contradict the values the university claims to uphold. Privately, many staff acknowledge the incongruence between the university's actions and its stated values, but few feel safe to speak openly. In addition, it's more important to some to safeguard the reputation of a Christian organization, than uphold Biblical truth and take a stand against the unethical behavior of the president and the people that have benefited by compromising their faith to fit in and advance.
