Pros

Incredible prison experience. The coordinators and research assistants were amazing to work with.

Cons

We were told that drive time to and from prisons can’t be counted as hours worked even though this goes directly against Dept. of Labor laws. Some people go to the prisons as often as 3x a week with 3 hours per day that aren’t paid. Prison days are often 9-12 hours long but you are explicitly told to only clock 8-5 with a lunch. HR didn’t seem very concerned either although it was brought to their attention multiple times. Management threatened to fire people during lab meetings or not let them go home for Christmas if they didn’t go out to prison more (despite not getting paid for our full time.)
