Pros

Benefits like comprehensive health insurance for all staff, Annual review and survey as feedback from all staff to improve management and leadership, encourages learning environment at work, interesting areas of conservation works, highly encourages professional development and career plans, reputable international organization that can speak on behalf of each staff, equality and constant efforts to improve and maintain wellbeing of staff and ethics and compliance

Cons

Difficult to detach from work probably due to the following reasons: 1. organization's continuous attempts to improve leadership ways, upgrade of programs and any other areas of organization wide. fast changes and sometimes not stable 2. most of the staff are too mission-driven people and too committed to their work 3. usually prefers to have personnel who can multitask 4. because of conservation works, travel is inevitable sometimes makes staff to be balanced between their personal life and work 5. many local business units in different countries, sometimes hard to interpret and articulate the compliance into onground work

Pros

Some incredibly kind, smart, and passionate employees. Above average pay for a non-profit (could be better), fulfilling mission, great benefits (healthcare, PTO, 8% 401k match)

Cons

The higher up you go in the org, the worse it gets. Executive leadership is abysmal and they completely eroded trust in their ability to lead. Most of the C-suite needs to be replaced with people with higher EQ. Marketing in particular has an extremely toxic corporate culture that’s become immensely worse in the past 3-5 years. Layoffs were never a common occurrence, but in the last couple years, they happen with no rhyme or reason and those exact roles that were eliminated are seemingly reposted just mere weeks after folks are pushed out. Beware of what team you’re joining. It’s a mixed bag. Some amazing teams with incredible leadership, and some not.
