The OT Practice Response

Dear reader, please see comments below regarding this post: The company is a small business with a national coverage of OT's. It is jointly run and owned by myself as as OT and our MD Giles. Our clinical teams are run and managed by office based OT's who are always on the end of the phone and in regular contact with our therapists. We are also introducing specialist clinical team leads to provide additional support to OT's in each team. Each case is fully supervised by our office team who are all personable, friendly and approachable. We have excellent and positive relationships with our OT's and are certainly do not operate a 'big business' approach. Many of our OT's are at full capacity due to the volume of work we provide them. Volume of work we can provide is of course influenced by factors outside of our control such as the location of the OT, willingness to travel, requirement of the OT's skill set and the quality of their work. These factors are all discussed at interview to ascertain if we are the right 'fit' for an OT looking to work with us. I hope this offers the reader some reassurance over contacting us, we are unsure where this review has come from but would urge OT's not to be discourage by its negativity. My personal email is nikki@theotpractice.co.uk and I would be more than happy to speak personally to any OT looking to join our team. Best, Nikki

Pros

No pressure to take work, friendly and respectful office staff, once experienced it’s easy to write up reports, their formats are easy to use and straightforward. A really good company to start with when starting out in independent practice given the support around report writing.

Cons

Can be lengthy reports with short deadlines (3 days is hard when you’re a new starter), time like writing update reports, writing notes and chasing things up isn’t paid whereas other companies do pay for this. Approved hours are sometimes inflexible so if a client changes goals it requires some negotiating. Other smaller companies do tend to pay more per hour.
