Pros

They've made it through the ups and downs of the industry and proven they have the resolve and commitment to do what it takes to be successful. Their growth has been quiet, measured and impressive and they are taking their Team for the ride.

Cons

Sometimes have to wear a few hats. But this is the nature of small business and now that the economics are being shared with the Team, it is well worth it.

Pros

There’s nothing I can think of

Cons

This gotta be the worst SME family business I ever work with. Incompetence management with all the bad business strategies and decision making. Always shouting out that they are neighbourhood builders and to commit to our tenants/partners, but didn’t fulfil any of the standards once they are in. They do not care about their own brand or have any clear direction for the team. Just like what all other past reviews mentioned and still exist to this day after many years. The only heros in this company are often staffs that willing to run extra mile and efforts. But always got ignored because the top are often influenced by their own emotions and favouritism. Favouritism towards lazy and useless employees argh. ZERO respect to employees who chose to left for their career prospects or even for their mental and health sake, because were called out as disloyal staffs. So, got to squeeze until every last drop and sarcastically attack you till last day. Looking for any career progression? Completely ZERO. 1. We do not have HR for more than 6 months and do not find the need to hire one 2. No learning and development for the employees to upskill 3. Everyone is doing out of their JD because we ought to and un-performed employees just get away from it 4. Do not find the urgency to fill up the roles so is just piling up the hats Financially? Be prepared for the worst on the incoming blows, owners that do not listen or bothered to salvage it. For the sake of your sanity, Don’t bother. Research about the company’s reputation. You will understand the reasons why so many roles to be filled once you are in.

Pros

My time at The Working Capitol has been nothing short of rewarding. Now in my third year with the company, I can genuinely say that the work ethic here is exceptional. Our team operates with a strong sense of camaraderie, always ready to support one another whenever needed. The culture of active and honest communication we've built within the team has made managing the business operations smooth and efficient. What truly sets The Working Capitol apart is its commitment to supporting SMEs and actively engaging with the community. The regular events and initiatives not only enhance our services but also create valuable networking opportunities, allowing us to connect with new people and ideas. Coming to work every day feels fulfilling, not only because of the meaningful work but also because of the strong bonds I've formed with my team members and the wider community.

Cons

One of the challenges is managing the constant feedback regarding the facilities. This can be particularly demanding when dealing with heritage shophouses, where the plumbing and electrical systems are often aged and embedded within the concrete walls. Addressing these issues can be complex and time-consuming, which adds an extra layer of difficulty to maintaining the space to the high standard our members expect.
