Pros

You get to write about games. The people you work with are pretty nice.

Cons

The pay is horrible and you're expected to churn out article after article to make anything close to a decent paycheck. However, the editorial team works against you on this by rejecting any remotely interesting ideas you have, and scheduling articles you write about new games far past out when those games will be relevant. TheGamer doesn't claim to be a primary source of income, but even then, the incredibly low payment for a 1000 word article where you're also expected to make all the images and put in all the links is very hard to swallow.

Pros

A very passionate group of gamers who I love interacting with on a daily basis. TG covers a lot of different styles of games which means there is always something interesting going on and a lot to discover while I work

Cons

Digital publishing is always changing so there are regular changes to strategy.
