It's a good place to start, with manageable size projects if you haven't had any experience before. As a small practice, you get to be part in every step of the design process, not being specialized in just one role. You get to be part of the decision making through the entire project.
Cons
Not a lot of variety in terms of type and size of projects. A lot of affordable housing projects, which restricts design in terms of man/hours. Small teams.
