Pros
I honestly don’t believe there are any pro’s working at Thompson hospitality
Cons
Huge disconnect from HR and upper management, or HR doesn’t seem to care about its employees. As stated in other reviews, good luck getting paid on time. I was previously apart of a company that recently got bought out by Thompson Hospitality and there has never been more of a hot mess than when they moved in, in my 6 years of working at this establishment. Despite telling us we had dedicated people to help our specific business during the transition, we were and still are often ignored when faced with problems that HR or upper management is now supposed to take care of. We couldn’t get ahold of company checks in the beginning requiring us to pay out of pocket for things we didn’t have enough of. THE MOST ANNOYING THING, would have to be the promise HR made to us when we merged. “You will receive your tips at the end of every night through your Wisely card, it will be just like getting paid out cash at the end of every night like you’re used to.” Now as someone who doesn’t like to give their information out to every company under the sun, I was very disappointed to hear this until someone asked if we can still get paid through a check instead which HR said Yes to. However a week later I find out that not only did Thompson hospitality already give this company all of my information, they already signed me up with a card to my name. Reading Wisley’s pamphlet given to me with the Wisley card, it stated that you do not have to use wisely if your company uses it and that you should talk to your employer if you want to switch. When I talked to my manager who spoke to HR, they told her no employee can be paid other than the wisely card. So my question is why lie to your employee’s on one of the most important reason they’re there for, most people don’t like their paycheck messed with on top of the fact that you aren’t even paying us every night like you said, it’s once a week now! I even know it’s possible to be paid direct deposit and not through the Wisely card because someone at a different location said they automatically called Wisely to cancel their account and after a month of working unpaid, they started to direct deposit his money.
