Pros

-Working for a cause I believed in -Met amazing coworkers -Decent pay

Cons

-Upper management threw bodies at the market to see what stuck instead of investing in proper training -Several canvassers let go without warnings -Rarely had enough equipment (not enough shirts/tablets/podiums) -Lack of care from upper management about hazardous working conditions -Communication issues -Forced positivity over mental health

Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I apologize for the lack of equipment. Unfortunately, like so many things at the moment, there have been delays with our normal vendors as of late. This combined with our expansion efforts has created a shortage that we are working hard to address. I can understand how that can be frustrating. We work hard at Threshold Giving on training and it is constantly developing. We do our best to be transparent with expectations from day one while providing the support for our staff to grow with our organization. I apologize if you felt this was not the case in your experience. I do believe we are understanding the individual needs of our fundraisers with mental health and working conditions at the forefront of many conversations internally. We also have an open-door policy with direct access available from our fundraisers to our Senior Management team. I am glad to see that you enjoyed your coworkers as well as the cause you were representing. Please feel free to reach out to us directly to discuss anything and everything about your experience.

Pros

You will learn not only a lot about the organizations you're fundraising for but about yourself as well. The people you work with are great and you get to spend a lot of time talking to people about things you care about. They respect a work and home life balance and will not bother you during your time away from work.

Cons

This entire job is rejection therapy. It is not easy by any means but rewarding when you do succeed. The quota is very high for how difficult the task is. My tablet system was not working in my last week and I lost plenty of donors. Management is nice but your failures are always "mindset" and often times exercises toxic positivity.

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback and for highlighting what you enjoyed about your experience. We’re glad to hear you valued the passion of the team, the work-life balance, and the opportunity to represent causes you care about. Those connections are at the heart of what we do. We also recognize that face-to-face fundraising can be challenging — rejection is part of the job, and we know it takes resilience to succeed. Our quotas exist to ensure we meet the commitments we’ve made to our nonprofit partners, but we’re continually working to provide better tools, training, and coaching to help our fundraisers feel supported along the way. We’re sorry to hear about the technical issues you experienced with your tablet and understand how frustrating that must have been. We’ll share your feedback with our operations team so we can continue improving processes and resources in the field. Thank you again for your contributions and for helping drive impact on behalf of the organizations we represent.
