Utter Chaos - Manager ThriveCart Employee Review

Pros

Some colleagues are nice, but they’re desperately trying to get out of this place which makes for a strange environment.

Cons

True story: Imagine you started a few weeks ago, you’re already working on several projects including with external partners. You have a good rapport with your supervisor who is a C-Suite leader. One morning, a few days before BFCM, your Slack stops working and you realize you’re logged out of everything. You reach out to your manager who has no idea what’s going on. The manager reaches out to the CEO who explains that you’ve been fired (without your manager knowing about it or getting to weigh in on it). Fast forward a couple months, and the C-Suite leader got fired as well. What it comes down to, mainly, is that the CEO needs to have his fingers in everything. Despite no experience as a tech startup CEO, he believes he knows everything better than anyone else, which creates a toxic atmosphere. Avoid at all costs. I’ve also seen with my own eyes (and heard from ex-employees) that ThriveCart pays lawyers to get negative reviews taken down. So we’ll see how long this one will last.

Pros

Product can help creators build their businesses.

Cons

This is NOT a company that cares about its people at all. PE fund wants to make money. That's it. Benefits are poor and the culture is chaotic.

Pros

At ThriveCart, one of the biggest strengths is the highly knowledgeable team. You’re surrounded by people who really understand their craft. Collaboration is encouraged, so it’s easy to exchange ideas and learn from others. The team is supportive and responsive, which makes problem-solving more efficient. You also get exposure to different areas of the business through cross-team work. Overall, it’s a great environment for learning and growth.

Cons

It can get pretty busy at times, especially when there are big updates or launches. Since everyone’s remote, you have to make more effort to communicate clearly. You might end up doing some tasks outside your usual role.
