Pros

Remote work (no longer offered an is now all based in Maryland)

Cons

I worked at ThriveDX for just under 3 years and there were at least 10 large rounds of layoffs over that time. I was in a student-facing role, and due to these layoffs would constantly field questions completely unrelated to my speciality because their point of contact in that department had their role eliminated and there was no communication of who the new point of contact is (ex: Career Coach fielding questions on financial operations, payments, tech support, and administrative questions). The role changed from career advice to being a general liaison of information about who their new contact is for the next 2 months until that person gets laid off. In December 2024 a new CEO, Foster, stepped in and within the next few months the company announced all roles would move from remote to on-site in Maryland. Cuts to employee PTO and benefits (bereavement leave no longer offered, premiums went up, very poor parental leave offered) were also a result of this change. The company is now Iron Circle, who wants to be a player in the Cybersecurity certification market instead of bootcamps. Iron Circle is made up of leadership from 2U (a company previously holding a market cap of $7 billion and is now bankrupt). The rebrand is to hide the shame of ThriveDX (also formerly HackerU) and the massive amount of debt and bad optics surrounding that company. I’d be surprised if Iron Circle lasts another few years.
