Pros
- Large, spacious but vacant office. - Adopted autocratic management style in recent years; easy to climb the ladder now as long as you’re willing to be a YES-man follower without conscience to co-workers.
Cons
- Pre-hiring expectations and post-hiring reality can be totally different. - People with wrong qualification are often assigned (or hired) to the wrong jobs scope on the pretence of “grooming” them when it’s obvious that there is no longer any qualified mentors to provide professional guidance. - Unrealistic expectations. New and inexperience staffs hired to take over vacant posts are put in ambiguous situation, yet are expected to instantly become experts and take on technical problems by self-studying or by asking Google. - Quick to find fault and point fingers internally when Customer complaints with no one able to offer any constructive support to resolve the situation. Management and assigned in-charge just pass on the issues down and not keen to solve the problem’s root cause. - Tai-chi culture. No qualms setting people up for failure just to cover up the mess that were created by poor/no planning. Most managers do not step up to give proper instructions. - Respectable and experienced seniors who bring confidence to the team left unexpectedly in a short span of time even before and during Covid-19. It appears their past contribution are not valued and there wasn't any effort to retain them.
