Pros
AMAZING Benefits for full-time employees (health, dental, optical, potential tuition assistance, matching 401k, possible stock options - the list goes on and on), open discussion of tensions instead of quiet animosity building without communication, generally happy co-workers, actively working to improve ecological outcomes across multiple industries makes daily motivation significantly easier, pushing the forefront of scientific understanding of biopolymers is exciting, both remote and in-office positions available (depending on type of role), great starting pay with at least annual reviews and raises (assuming goals are being met, work is getting done, etc), dogs allowed in the office, fantastic opportunities for career development or career pivot, and company is well-funded for early expansion.
Cons
Growth is fast - creating times where there are not enough employees to finish tasks with deadlines, which can be stressful to individuals. Communication between departments is sometimes difficult to maintain, but it's getting better as number of employees increase (instead of the opposite, which is the usual). Start-up company - comes with typical limitations of resources, in spite of being generally well-funded.
