Pros

The company and jobs are ran so lean that you will be forced to learn all roles in order to survive. In my experience, this is a "pro" as once you decide that you want out, you can market yourself better. Additionally, I would suggest to all employees to be self aware and not become complacent due to their jobs. I have been out of TCC for quite a while now and this is by no means an emotion driven review; but rather, an insight of what has been going on with this ONCE very good company. Read the Cons below.

Cons

1. They run jobs so lean that you are stretched very very thin! 2. The expectation to work at least 60 hours a week is not a mystery. Upper management actually is handed a report every week that tallies up every employees hours that week and ranked from highest to lowest. I often had seen this report and with the mindset of the upper management, I believe this is used as a tool to drive each employee harder. 3. This company is no longer the family oriented company it once was. They are now driven by profit by ANY means necessary. This includes taking project change orders and making improvements that benefits Tilden-Coil's offices, personal homes, etc. The subcontractors all know it and talk about it. The motto of "Building with Integrity" is and has been out the door for years. 4. The other reviews noting the Kool Aid is true. Retreats are held annually to promote this cult mindset and hide behind "Christian Values". 5. No Promotions. TCC does not believe in promotions. The bars are set so high that it is almost impossible to meet as each employee works to death 60+ hours per week. Once you are labeled with "this person only handles xxxx jobs" you will not be able to shake this off. They won't say it, but they use this as a reason to either keep you where you are or force you to leave. 6. Your direct supervisors will not support you. Your own performance will be forced into you and you will be forced to generate your own performance reviews and rating. You are then leveraged against that and forced to generate your own plan on how you think you will improve. This is all non-sense and just a tool to make you feel that you are failing yourself. Upper management will back stab you at every opportunity to improve their own standing. 7. Safety is not their priority. They preach this day in and day out, but upper management could care less about this. It is just a selling point used to dupe more clients. The employees that really care are do all the hard work and there is no support from upper management.
