Pros

None at all. Maybe I would at least mention they do give away free drinks. That expire in a month's time when they reach you. Up to you to decide if that is a pro.

Cons

If you're still reading this post, I would suggest you to run as far as you can. Just reject their offer and look for another job. Honest. No sugar coating in this post, all events and examples recounted as per my own experience. Company specialises in politics, thrives and grows in it. If you have ever watched Yanxi Palace, this company is a real life representation of it internally. But of course, they will not tell you this during your orientation. HR also participates in said politics, no employee protection whatsoever. Don't be fooled when they said you can talk to them. You will probably be their lunch topic. Instead during orientation, they will tell you that they are willing to change (hahahhaa), to speak up if you encounter difficulties (HAHAHH) and help this company to turn its head from debt. Give and take maybe 2 weeks into a month, you will realise that everyday the work you are handling is vastly different from your original job scope offered and your position. Be ready to be the best saikang warrior you have ever been in your life because joining this company is like signing your life away to that position. The aunties there? Some have been there for years, precisely because they are there, you will suffer. They have learned the art of Tai-Chi, better than the ones you see at the park (okay maybe not anymore cuz Covid). They are better ping pong players than Feng Tian Wei, because once the ball's in your court, they can go back to being AFK. If anyone asks anything, they will say "Oh, I'm waiting for a reply tho ><". Other than doing nothing and waiting for the pay to come in monthly, the aunties also write emails (without you being CCed inside) detailing how they twist your words in a face to face meeting into paragraphs of how they want to rally all other team leads into providing the support needed for an project that nobody asked for. HR opens a survey for "Feedback about your management" and makes sure to highlight that all conversations and opinions are PRIVATE and CONFIDENTIAL. Big lie. Major red flag. You can submit it and go to sleep, and the next morning, the whole upper management knows what you wrote in that survey. Management couldn't care less about COVID restrictions, all employees are working from office despite standard regulations being 50% wfh. Let me quote. "If one person get covid, we also have to work from home, so default just report to the office." Then, they tried (haha) to implement 50% work from home, but with poor understanding of the regulations, they put 50% of the employees permanently working from office and split the other 50% into 25% to report in on different days. Not sure about their maths, but anyone can tell you 50% + 25% on any day does not equal to 50%. Honestly, I feel so bad that they tried so hard, probably should have just called MOM to help them understand better. Management also publicly shame employees in team meetings (Haha, what restrictions? They had over 10 plus employees in the same meeting room with no social distancing.). Repeated usage of "stupid" "brainless" "poor execution" equivalents in a team setting. They also like to overpromise to their clients, employees, co-workers and stakeholders about how they will achieve a certain goal, and the lie snowballs into something uncontrollable. This causes their employees to have to work extra hours to submit something that they should not even be doing in the first place. Example: a stationery company working on interior design and furniture sourcing for their client's office renovation. Employees are stuck in the time frame that from when they joined the company and are unable to move forward, causing many processes and SOPs to be lacking or non existent. This causes many things to be manual even though its all about digitalising work processes now to make their job easier. They distribute several well-known brands as well, and don't have the basic respect for a brand's image as well as logo and placement. Example: asking if it is okay to use the logo they Googled, in preference to the original logo provided by the brand, to be used as an acrylic display piece to represent the brand. For someone who has been dealing with the brands that they distribute for so long, I'm not really sure if there was any basic understanding of how important logos are to the brands they carry. But then again, I'm just a junior staff, can't say too much right. If you make it this far into the post, thanks for reading.
