Pros

High paying skill trades if you can get in. But then you're left to do everything for incompetent new hires.

Cons

Everything. The people who have been there 15+ years make $5-6 dollars more than you and you're doing the same job but you'll never be able to reach that because they have capped everyone's hourly wage now if you're under 5 years experience much lower. It's hot. It's dirty. It's unsafe. They also cut hours every year shortly after having everyone pledge to donate a portion of their paycheck to a local charity, which is all good, but it's dirty to do the same thing to people every year and not announce the shortened weeks until AFTER people commit to donating a piece of their paycheck to charity. It's crowded. Management doesn't seem to care about safety. Numbers drive every "leader" here. In my opinion, being 30 years old, this place doesn't have anything great that keeps people here. Nothing stopping me from applying to steelmills or other higher paying jobs. Places like Timken are a dime a dozen these days. Higher hourly rates would REALLY effect moral amongst all the production workers, and that has been stated by many here. Raises across the board would be nice, bit they take and take from you year after year. Beware.
