Pros

Employee's are very relaxed with each other. Its nice to work in an open garage, I was lucky to be located where a wind tunnel caused fresh air to blow into the shop, which can soften a lot of stress.

Cons

Others may experience differently as each location is privately owned. But I had 3 managers at "all" times telling me what to do constantly. That would have been fine if they all didn't give me a different instruction to do. I ended up getting yelled at every time they walked by asking "What are you doing!?" I would explain that Manager number 2 told me to do it this way...and they would tell me that "Manager number 2 is an idiot, do it this way".....and so on. All the managers I worked with had terrible attitudes, horrible language and Egos' as high as the sky. As a tech we are worked to the bone, never a down moment unless there were no customers, in which we had to clean up oil drums and basically scrub the floors on our hands and knees. Pay was $8.50hr with supposed commission, which is a misconception, because you are paid commission on "work labor" not tire sales or brake replacements or anything else. just hours worked on the vehicle, which EVERY customer had a coupon that said "free installation" or "free oil change with purchase of this tires" And to make it worse, many customers complained about how long they have been waiting and the manager would always negotiate with them by throwing in the labor for free, to satisfy them......and its very painful on my back lifting 23" wheels on and off cars all day for $47 bucks earned (after tax's) at the end of a 9 hour day. Also, their equipment, and I mean ALL of it was broken, we had to jimmy, and fabricate repairs to the tire changer and alignment machine weekly, nothing worked, and half of the gear was just sitting around, out of service collecting dust. If you think working at The Tire Choice means you can work on your own car as a benefit? Nope, they charge you labor hours for working on your own car, even if its on or off the clock. They offer you a 50% discount on labor, even if you do it yourself....which is non-sense. But good luck getting your car in the shop on your off time, because the shop is "always" reserved for customers, even when there isn't a customer in sight...I would not recommend anyone work here.
