tonies was in a startup phase but is now moving into a regular corporate structure - there's good and bad with that:
- Currently in a period of growth and they're recognizing good workers with promotions as they add employees.
- Benefits are better than average in my local market.
- Lots of room for new ideas
Cons
- Most departments based in Germany are extremely difficult to work with. They're set in their ways, inefficient and not collaborative with other markets.
- There's more chaos as they're building out and establishing systems.
- They're hiring ringers and well qualified people in the USA but they're being kneecapped by having to adhere to the German office's way of doing things.

Pros
Fun, creative product with a strong mission
Great teammates
Cons
Burnout was common and never truly addressed. Expectations were often unrealistic, and there was little regard for work-life balance.
Layoffs and terminations were handled poorly—often done quietly without acknowledgment or communication to the wider team (feels like a revolving door).
Very little investment in employee growth or career development. I was there for 3+ years and it set me back professionally.
A lack of transparency from leadership created a culture of confusion and mistrust. Major decisions were often made behind closed doors.
