Pros

Good snacks in the break room.

Cons

Pretty much everything besides donuts/snacks. This company is horribly run, managed, and maintained. During my time there it was extremely apparent that it was "every man for themselves", with everyone trying to cover their own by throwing others under the bus. Employees would use the company chat to bad mouth other co-workers to each other. Management was a complete joke. Totally toxic (the "Hazmat" review has it right) and verging on abusive at times. Management would degrade others loudly while their door was open, or in group meetings. Half the people who worked there weren't qualified to either head a department, manage a team or a project, or flat-out do their job - including the CEO. There is a facade of teamwork and even just basic morale. The projects are not challenging and any type of "out of the box" thinking that was attempted was immediately shunned - look at the portfolio, it all basically looks the same. After I left, I worked at a couple agencies since and every single one of them had either had a bad experience with people at Top Floor, or heard rumours of a struggling company. Supposedly salaries were paid with a credit card at one point. If that doesn't scream sinking ship, I don't know what does. The CEO responded to another review with: “On one hand it seems like it should be easy. Hire people to accomplish a mission that they believe in, provide them the tools they need and get out of their way. Unfortunately it is not that easy. Even when you hire highly talented and dedicated people it doesn’t insure a successful outcome. ” First off, it's ensure, not insure... Secondly, IT IS THAT EASY when you remove toxic people who are literally affecting client relationships and company health. Hire people with actual qualifications and treat your employees like actual humans. Caution to prospective employees: There are so many places that you can bring your talents to that will actually foster your skills and create a healthy environment to thrive in. This isn't one of them.

Pros

The people are passionate about the work they do and your teammates have your back. Management is predominantly women who lift and support each other. I onboarded remotely and worked during the pandemic - I felt supported every day and had the tools to excel in my position. I didn't know much about SEO going into it, and learned a ton in my ~1 year there. The company is very goal-oriented from what they provide for clients down to setting employees up on the career path they desire. A nice perk is half day Fridays to give you the headspace to work on your goals and be offline a little. It's real people who really care about each other, starting with the two owners.

Cons

I'm a glass half full kinda person so I don't see this as a con but some may - it's a smaller firm, so you get to wear many hats. You'll rock it here as a self-starter and eager learner.
