TPS is the largest ambulance service in Canada. With the number of calls they receive and dispatch being the highest of any other service in my country. My skills and competencies improved quickly as a result of the number of calls I was attended per shift. My intention to work there was based on my ambition to improve my skill set and experience as quickly as possible. There are some facets of TPS that make everyday's shift a challenge on one's mind body/ soul. It is a huge service that impressively manages to service successfully what would be an unimaginable number of call-somehow-- they operate and complete and dispatch to every calls and prioritize and reprioritize constantly to make sure everyone who does call 911- is attended to and delivered a response by paramedics as soon as possible. EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Cons
While I respect the need for a suggestion or a list of cons for this site's intention to be as informative as possible- I won't air any grievance or criticize or complain about the challenges of being employed there.
