Pros

If you work well independently and want to have an impact, this is the place for you. Everyone is supportive and hardworking. We are a 100% remote team. There's real room to grow in every role. You won't be in any unnecessary meetings that just end up wasting everyone's time. Work-life balance is real here. You are expected to do what you need to have balance.

Cons

There really aren't any cons. It's about what works for you. We're a 100% remote team and nobody's going to be checking up on you to make sure you're working. If you don't do the work, it'll show. So you have to be self-motivated.

Pros

The company culture is simply the best. The focus is on getting things done and hitting your goals. What you do with your time and how you structure your day to day is completely up to you but you have to call your shots and you need to make them. Sure, there is a ton a freedom but you are also responsible to the rest of the team who are depending on you to hit your marks as they hit their own. This is how every company should be run.

Cons

Working remotely without someone breathing down your neck might not be for everyone. The structure is self-supplied to a large degree and that isn't for everyone right out the gate. I struggled a little at first, coming from a company that was very old school, but in the end, one can adapt and the rewards are worth it.

Pros

Best-in-class work/life flexibility, competitive salaries, autonomy, you get to genuinely impact the business, transparency from C-level(s), consistently interesting work, deep trust and respect among teammates

Cons

Online interaction does come with an isolation tradeoff. It's harder to feel like you have community, which is more of a remote work downside than a Tortuga downside. My coworkers are my friends, in a sense -- but I only see them twice a year. When you work for Tortuga, you have to fulfill a social need in a non-work capacity, which can be exhausting.
