Pros

Location and subsidized Crunch Fitness membership.

Cons

I typically do not write negative reviews but I feel that prospective employees need to know what’s really happening at Totango. To put it bluntly, this is the worst place I’ve ever worked at. Executive team always “knows it all” and is “led” by a control freak CEO. No accountability from the top makes goal setting and planning a joke. Plenty of baiting and switching on promises made to employees. The executive team fosters a hostile work environment. There is zero focus on creating a positive employee culture. Morale is poor and employee turnover is high. Everyone is looking for the exits. As a previous Glassdoor reviewer mentioned, be wary of positive Glassdoor reviews. See LinkedIn for how many people have left before their 1-year mark. Despite this, management refuses to make appropriate changes. There are no full-time HR resources. If you have any HR-related issues (of which there are many), you are at the mercy of management. Poor communication. Zero trust or transparency. The office facility is in poor shape. The office carpet is stained and ripped. Cords and wires run all over the place. The furniture is uncomfortable and cheap. There is no privacy to take calls or meetings. This is not a company willing to invest in a working environment designed to bring out the best from their employees.

Pros

Operating like a startup with a 15 year old brand. Amazing people to work alongside!

Cons

Difficult puzzles to work on and putting out fires day in and day out— but that's part of the journey.

Pros

Totango was once a strong, mission-driven organization with a talented team and a product that resonated deeply within the customer success community. However, many of the individuals who helped shape that culture and momentum are no longer with the company.

Cons

The organization today differs significantly from what it was in the past. Strategic priorities shift frequently, which can make it difficult for teams to maintain focus and build sustained momentum. Decision-making often feels reactive, reflecting a lack of clearly communicated long-term goals. There is also a notable emphasis on detailed day-to-day oversight, including frequent status reporting, rather than empowering teams to operate with autonomy and strategic ownership. This environment may not align well with professionals who prefer clarity, consistency, and outcome-focused leadership. While the company continues to operate under the Totango brand, its internal direction and investment decisions suggest an ongoing period of transition. Prospective buyers should proceed thoughtfully and seek a clear understanding of the level and type of support they can expect from their purchase. The involvement of its investment partner appears more oriented toward short-term experimentation than long-term enablement, which has contributed to organizational instability. Candidates considering Totango should view it as a substantially different organization than it was in prior years and assess fit accordingly.
